Winona Area Ambulance Service provides advanced pre-hospital patient care to thousands of patients every year. With a dedicated staff of over 25 highly skilled Paramedics and EMTs, our company is able to provide the following services:
911 Response
We provide 911 emergency medical response to approx. 200 square miles & approx. 50,000 citizens
Interfacility Transfers
We provide interfacility medical transports at the BLS, ALS and critical care patients. This means we provide ambulance transport, based on the best care for the patient, from one hospital to another for more advanced or specialized care.
Advanced Life Support Intercepts
Winona Area Ambulance will meet partner ambulance services enroute to the hospital, bringing advanced life support care for the remainder of their transport. We have intercept agreements with Lewiston Ambulance, Altura Ambulance, Rushford Ambulance, Houston Ambulance, Scenic Valley Ambulance & Arcadia Ambulance
Festival, Event, & Large Crowd Coverage
We provide coverage for special events throughout the Winona community including large festivals such as Steamboat Days and Goodview Days, as well as athletic events such as Winona State University football, high school football games, Trinona triathlon and many 5k run/walks. We also provide coverage to Mississippi Thunder Speedway throughout the race season.
Training & Continuing Education
Winona Area Ambulance Service is a Minnesota EMS approved training facility and also an American Heart Association training site. We teach a variety of classes to EMS professionals, other healthcare professionals and the general public
